Welcome to
Renzo Gracie Pasadena

What to expect

You’ll be learning the innovative approach to Jiu Jitsu that is the hallmark of Team Renzo Gracie. Our curriculum is founded upon the techniques developed by Renzo, Shawn Williams, John Danaher, and Gordon Ryan.

During class, there won’t be any repetitive warm-ups or dead drilling. We use the Ecological or “Constraints-Led” Approach to teaching Jiu Jitsu. You’ll be engaging in live training and active problem-solving from start to finish.

Class consists of a full hour of instruction, followed by a full hour of sparring.

Read on for a guide to getting ready for your first day.

Getting Ready

You can wear the gear that you already own. We do not have requirements regarding gi color or ranked rashguards. If your gear has branding from your home school, no problem.

For gi class, we do require that you wear a t-shirt or rashguard underneath your gi jacket (no bare chests allowed). Please make sure your gi is clean and odor-free before arrival.

For no-gi class, you can wear a t-shirt or rashguard on top, and grappling shorts or gi pants on bottom. For safety, please make sure that clothing does not have zippers, pockets, or buttons.

We recommend bringing water to stay hydrated. No other equipment is necessary.

Please make sure to complete your waiver online before you arrive. If you have not already submitted your waiver, you can access it here.
